My old VHS player

My favorite technological object is the VHS player. My interaction with these players begin in nineties, when my father rented us kids movies in this format, and this made us very happy. Throughout my childhood we had these devices in our house and when these were damage I fixed them. This mechanisms was wonderful for me because I imagined the circuits like smalls cities. So I learn about this internal parts just playing.

Currently I'm studying cinema and television therefore I interact with many video devices, so in recent years I experiment with this old format for achieve news aesthetics in my short films. I open these machines and I play with its internal mechanisms to produces glitchs and stranger things. Also I play with these wire connections on my PC to digitalize the recording from old video camera and use them videos in the social media. 

Nowadays this old aesthetics are trendy and a lot user publish related content either memes, art or videoclips. I’m follower to many pages this style on Instagram, for example “Aceleracionista” a page of philosophical content from nineties and 2000’s.
